A little dinner or the whole cookout

Tell us who is eating, choose your food, and turn it into a shopping list. Two people count as a plan too.

Plan your meal

A quiet dinner or a full table. Choose your people and menu to build a shopping list.

1 Who is eating?

Dinner for two counts too. For older children with bigger appetites, count them as adults.

Regular. Start with half a pound of cooked meat or one recipe main portion per adult. The allowance is shared across your main dishes. Sides and desserts keep their usual portions.

2 Choose meat cuts if needed

Choose cuts you are serving separately from the recipes below. If a recipe already includes your pork shoulder, leave that cut unchecked here. Your main recipes and separate cuts share one meal allowance equally.

Trimming means fat or scraps you cut off before cooking. Not sure? We will use a starting estimate for that meat. Cooking loss is included separately, even when you choose none.

Prices are optional and in US dollars. The estimate covers the meat you price, before tax.

3 Add recipes to your menu

4 Finish your list

Recipe rolls are already included. We add your leftovers allowance once across the menu, then round recipes up to full batches. Whole pies, pans and meat cuts can leave extra even when you choose no leftovers.

Buying a whole cut? Choose one that meets your estimated weight.

The amount you buy will be heavier than the meat you serve. We account for trimming and cooking separately.
