The published features that change the meal
Weber lists a temperature range of 180°F to 600°F, DirectFlame cooking, digital controls and Weber Connect through WiFi and Bluetooth. Its Manual mode uses a steady fuel and fan setting for cooking with the lid open. These are manufacturer descriptions, rather than measurements from a cook on this model.
The reason to consider that range is the transition between jobs. Think about a thick steak started gently and finished with stronger heat, or a menu that shifts from a smoked main to quicker cooking. The maximum setting alone cannot establish how evenly steaks brown or how quickly the cooker recovers after opening.
Measure the 420 square inch lower grate
Weber specifies a lower grate of 24 by 17.5 inches, or 420 square inches, and a 228 square inch upper grate. The stated total is 648 square inches. The 600 in the model name is not the total grate area.
Draw that lower rectangle on paper and place your usual roasting pan or rib rack inside it. Then account for space to move the food. An upper shelf may help with another item, but its area cannot extend the width of a long pan below. Ask for the clearance above each level if a tall roast is part of your usual menu.
Check the routine around the controller
Weber says an electrical outlet is required. Its FAQ says WiFi is not required to operate the cooker and that ignition must happen at the grill before remote control is available. Confirm that the outdoor location, power and network coverage suit your actual setup.
Before buying, find the model's instructions for fuel, initial setup, startup, shutdown and cleaning. Leave room to open the hopper and remove the grease and ash collection parts. Easy access is a reason to examine the design closely, not a promise that cleanup disappears.
Compare it with the job you already do
The Woodridge Pro owner notes favor convenience during pulled pork. They do not establish whether a Searwood cooks better. For a useful comparison, decide whether the Searwood's published heat range and lower grate fit solve a specific problem in your current routine.
If you mainly want direct charcoal cooking and enjoy managing a fire, compare the 22 inch Weber kettles. If stacked trays of food matter more than a searing finish, look at the Navigator vertical pellet smoker.
A menu that makes the question concrete
Use one strip steak for two to think through the gentle cooking and searing stages. That recipe uses a skillet for the finish, so check the skillet's limits and the grill instructions before changing the heat source. For a longer cook, plan pulled pork with a side prepared separately, rather than assuming every dish wants the same temperature.
Keep a suitable food thermometer in the plan. A cooker setting does not tell you the internal temperature of the food.
